Hi everyone, I am Abhishek a pre-final year computer science student from India. I am currently an Outreachy intern, I also love to teach and contribute to open-source projects.
Community, contribution, and curiosity are the three core values that hold immense importance in my life. These values shape my worldview and guide my actions, providing a sense of purpose and fulfillment.
Community: Community is the foundation of our lives, connecting us to others and creating a sense of belonging. I believe that a strong and supportive community fosters personal growth and collective progress. Engaging with my community allows me to build meaningful relationships, celebrate diversity, and work towards common goals.
Communities provide a platform for knowledge sharing, mentorship, and mutual support, allowing me to expand my skills, learn from others, and contribute to a shared vision.
Contribution: I firmly believe in the power of making a positive impact on the world around us. Contributing to society, whether on a small or large scale, brings a deep sense of fulfillment and purpose. By actively seeking opportunities to contribute, I aim to make a difference in the lives of others and contribute to the greater good. For me, contribution lies at the heart of open-source projects and is a driving force in the tech industry. Open-source software relies on the collective effort of individuals who willingly contribute their expertise, time, and resources to create valuable solutions that benefit the wider community.
Curiosity: Curiosity is the fuel that drives personal growth and lifelong learning. It is the desire to explore, question, and understand the world around us. Embracing curiosity allows me to approach life with an open mind, continuously seek new knowledge, and adapt to change.
The rapid pace of technological advancements demands a constant thirst for knowledge and a desire to explore new frontiers. Embracing curiosity enables me to stay at the forefront of emerging technologies, continuously learn and adapt to new trends, and push the boundaries of what is possible. It encourages me to ask questions, challenge assumptions, and seek innovative solutions to complex problems.
What motivates me to apply to Outreachy?
I was looking for opportunities that can help me grow my skillsets, I wanted to work on real-world projects and guidance from an experienced mentor in a structured way and wanted to make an impact in real life while learning at the same time and Then I saw a post on LinkedIn about the Outreachy program that supports diversity and inclusivity in tech, a place that gives an equal chance to anyone who is facing discrimination, systemic bias, and impacted by underrepresentation in the technology industry where they are living. Then I researched more about it got to know about the process and immediately applied to it, although I had a firm belief of not getting the selection to it because I already had faced a lot of rejections in the past but I still gave my best and here I am it was my first attempt, to be honest, I cried when I saw my selection mail.
I am learning a lot and I will always be grateful to Outreachy throughout my whole life to help in supporting me and believing in me as this is my first official internship throughout my college years. I can't wait to learn more exciting things.
