Week #3 Outreachy blogpost
Have you ever thought of getting lost, Have you ever thought that you know nothing? Some say never, some say a bit and some say that I feel it every time when I get stuck somewhere. Well most of us belong to the third category.
During the past 3 weeks, I have stuck a lot of times and tried to learn new things so that I could solve an issue that I am encountering and whenever there is a new feature required I have to make myself familiar to implement.
Status codes in responses were my biggest struggle till now as to know how to handle them via an HTTP server so that I can experiment with my implementation, After stucking a lot of times now I am so much more familiar with the concepts and workflow of it and it's such an interesting topic for me now.
Below are some of my learnings that can help you a bit to stay strong and have the self-belief to tackle your challenges whenever you get stuck :))
- Acknowledging Our Shared Struggles:
Struggles are an inherent part of life, and the tech industry is no exception. Whether you're a seasoned professional or a newcomer, there are moments of uncertainty, self-doubt, and frustration. It's important to acknowledge and normalize these struggles, as they unite us rather than set us apart. Remember, no one is immune to challenges, and accepting this truth fosters empathy and support within the community.
- Imposter Syndrome: Our Common Foe:
Imposter Syndrome is a silent battle many faces, including myself. It's that nagging feeling of inadequacy and the fear of being exposed as a fraud. But here's the secret—almost everyone experiences it. Recognize that your accomplishments are valid and that you belong in the tech community. Seek solace in knowing that others have wrestled with imposter syndrome and have emerged stronger, proving their worth through hard work and dedication.
- Technical Hurdles: Learning through Challenges:
In the tech industry, we encounter numerous technical hurdles that test our problem-solving skills. From grappling with complex algorithms to debugging stubborn code, these obstacles are opportunities for growth. Remember, it's not about avoiding challenges but embracing them. Each obstacle presents a chance to learn, experiment, and expand our knowledge. Seek guidance from mentors, tap into the resources available, and remember that perseverance is the key to overcoming technical hurdles.
Conclusion
Your struggles do not define you but rather shape you into the incredible individual you are becoming. Embrace challenges as opportunities for personal and professional development. Reach out for help, ask questions, and never hesitate to seek support from mentors and the community. Together, we can create a culture where struggles are not seen as setbacks, but as stepping stones towards success.
As you navigate your own path, always remember that the journey is as important as the destination. Celebrate your achievements, no matter how small, and take pride in the progress you make. Embrace the unknown, embrace the struggles, and embrace the transformative power of resilience.
In the end, it is through our struggles that we truly thrive. So keep pushing forward, keep learning, and keep shining and let's create an impact together :))
